GET BETTER @ Destiny Crucible Multiplayer – Updating: Ep.3

Thanks to @DestinyInvestors First

This is going to be an ongoing series that will feature a lot of footage that Mike and I recorded during the Destiny Beta Build on both the PS4 and Xbox 360 version of the Beta. This commentary is done by Johnston and will feature a gameplay/commentary standpoint of Destiny’s Crucible PVP.

Destiny's Crucible

  • On the Crucible, there is a map called Moon. Which is basically the largest play space that allows vehicles such as the Pike and the Interceptor on the map. The major points on this little strategy guide is:

– B Turret and B2 Control
– Vehicle control
– A coherent team that you could communicate with and assist you

Recommendations for this map:
– Have weapons that compliment each other for its ranges.
(ie. Shotgun + Scout rifle combo, Sniper + Auto AR/ Hand Cannon)

  • On the crucible, Venus is the smallest map in the Destiny Beta. Which is a good close to mid range map.

We suggest a build such as:
The shotgun + Semi auto AR build

This is recommended due to the shotgun’s CQB range that exemplifies this map’s size. Shotguns are more reliable and easy to use in this game. This is a lot better than running a sniper, if you are running a sniper. Go by C Rock or C Caves for some distance to cover both C and B flags.

Strategy guide:
– Coherent teammates and communication
– Awareness
– Running in pairs

Tactics:

– Bait and switch, letting your teammate get spotted, distracting the enemies and flank to the side to clean them up.

– Putting shots on enemies, if you have a team to communicate to. Most of these enemies will drop like flies.

  • Map Rusted Lands is only available on the crucible, on the limited time Iron Banner playlist on the Beta. Rusted Lands is a close to medium range map in the Destiny Beta.

We suggest a build such as:
Any Auto AR + Shotgun

This is recommended due to the Auto ARs ability to excel at close to mid range, this can absolutely destroy semi-auto AR users in a matter of seconds . Shotguns like we stated, are more reliable and easy to use in this map as well. Since, this map has many corners, this can be handy for close quarter situations. However, you can always run a sniper, though you would get flanked from various positions and areas around the map.

The recommended role is the: Aggressive support

Strategy for this map:
– Staying Mobile, this is especially important because this map has various areas to flank enemies trying to hold down locations/flags. Staying Mobile with the team is great and supports the team preferably even better than a Defensive support playstyle.

– The Blitzkrieg
A fast-paced aggressive rush tactic, this can prove to be extremely deadly with a well-coordinated team or a coherent team. The Blitzkrieg requires almost the whole team to overwhelm enemies on flag points or choke points of the map. This tactic/strategy especially works against uncoordinated enemies. This leaves them in disarray and gives the enemy team such a huge setback.

– Blitzkrieg Variant: The convoy system
This is either a various pair/trios of teammates running with you, this focuses on strength in numbers and speed of coordination. This is second to the full Blitzkrieg variant when it focuses on overwhelming the enemy with a coordinated rush.

Techniques for Blitzkrieg strategy/tactic:
– Bait & Switch technique
A fairly popular technique against pairs or several opponents. Having either your teammate distracts the enemy and you can either swoop in with covering fire or flank to get several kills. This can lead to saving your teammate much more than before.

Destiny Overview: Your story, You Craft it and Wield it

Destiny is a shared-world shooter, the first of its kind. It’s an action-adventure game where you are both the main character and the creator of the story. Destiny will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 video game consoles on September 9, 2014

Destiny Overview: Your story, You Craft it and Wield it

As a Guardian, you will traverse the planets and stars, fighting for our survival and to keep hope alive. That doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. If you wish to, you can play Destiny completely alone, or you can go in with a fire-team of you and up to two others. Players can seamlessly be matched into your game to help you fight and explore. Public events will also be available to participate in at your leisure. The game includes multiplayer modes like, Skirmish, Rumble, Salvage, Clash, Combined Arms, Control, and Iron Banner. Destiny is your story; you craft it and wield it. Use it well. Be Brave.

Glimmer was once a source of power during the Golden Age. Now it is used as the main currency in The Last City, Earth. Destiny Glimmer is used to purchase items from venders in The Last City.

Guardians earn Glimmer from killing enemies in all game modes, for completing any mission, All PVP wins in the Crucible. It can also be found in various chests.

After defeating a great foe you will not leave unrewarded. Objects of blue and gold will appear. These glittering items are what will help fuel and progress your Guardian. The blue ones are known as Glimmer. Glimmer can also be found in chests hidden in various places throughout the world. The gold ones are simply called loot. Loot will be dropped when you defeat powerful foes. It will contain some sort of weapon, maybe even armour.

On top of those, you will also be able to recover things such as Orbs of Light, engrams (mysterious puzzles), and ammunitions.

Destiny’s Time Schedule, Release Date, And Other Launch Details

We all know that Destiny will be released on September 9, 2014 on PlayStation 3, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but one big question remains. When will I be able to join the servers?

Destiny's Time Schedule, Release Date, And Other Launch Details

Bungie posted an update on the official Twitter saying that “Destiny servers will admit Guardians as soon as it is September 9th somewhere in the world. When you play is between you and your retailer.

Another update states “When it is September 9th somewhere in the world, and you have access to your very own version of Destiny, it will be time for you to create a character that will keep your company for a good, long time. Retailers will stick to time-zones. Our servers won’t know the difference. Retailers will break street date. Our servers won’t.

Bungie also said that you won’t be able to trade items in the full game. Trading will only be possible with your enemy like “trade your ammo for their loot”. They want us to work towards claiming that epic item and once we have it to be able to tell a badass story about it.

Back in April Tyson Green, lead player investment designer at Bungie, told IGN: “We’re really excited about creating a player economy. This is going to be a game that the community really drives, but for launch we’re going to be restricting it to trading items between your own characters.” So, I guess that we will get this option enabled at a later date, and who knows, maybe an Auction House or something similar.

Exclusive content will be made available to PS4 and PS3 owners, including an exclusive set of ships, gear, and guns, a co-op Strike mission on Mars, and a competitive multiplayer map. Destiny’s first expansion, The Dark Below, is scheduled for release in December.

Trading Won’t be Present in Destiny

It is said that trading won’t be present in Destiny when it launches. Destiny developers have made it clear that all of your gear must be attained with blood, sweat, and tears instead of swapped for another player’s loot or bought for virtual bucks.

trading won't be present in Destiny

“We want you to earn ’em. You should be able to tell a badass story for every sweet jewel in your arsenal,” Bungie wrote on its blog last week. “Once you earn them, the various Guardians under your account will be able to trade them, but weapons belong to the players who acquire them through action and bravery.”

The team reported that it did one final internal playtest of the game this past weekend: “Though Destiny may be basking in the gold light of release, we’re already looking ahead to the next milestone, and the next one after that.”

The Reasons to Preorder Destiny

Destiny might be the biggest video game of ending up 2014. So why is it garnering so much attention and is it worth preordering? We list out the top five reasons to pre-purchase Destiny right now rather than waiting to buy it at launch or a later time.

Destiny Preordering

5. PREORDER BONUS

Like other popular videogames, Destiny includes a bonus that rewards gamers who preordered early. In this case, they will be getting early access to the Vanguard Gear, Player Emblem and Weapons. From the wording, the same items may be available for those who did not reserve the product. However, there could be a possibility that you could pay to acquire the same Vanguard Gear, Player Emblem and Weapons down the road. Preordering should eliminate any questions about the availability and price of the bonus.

4. POPULARITY

Some early indicators are showing that Destiny should be one of the most, if not the most, talked about videogames coming out in 2014. A massive amount of gamers participated in the closed alpha, close beta and open beta for all four systems. Not to mention that the Ghost and Limited Editions swiftly sold out hours after they were announced.

Last but not least, the Glacier White Destiny Playstation 4 bundle remains a hot seller. If you are one of those gamers who like to play the most popular and best games, then Destiny looks like it will be the videogame to beat for 2014.

3. FEEDBACK

So how well will Destiny review? Based on the Alpha and Beta tests, the reception has been overwhelming positive so far. The only real concern is the size of the videogame. Bungie announced each planet only has one area even though they also stated that it is the biggest game they have ever created. Even if you take size into account, Destiny should have plenty of replay value thanks to its competitive multiplayer that fits in nicely with the campaign and cooperative elements.

2. COMMUNITY

Speaking of the campaign, Bungie confirmed that gamers can solo their way through all of the main missions. Nevertheless, the main selling point in the videogame is being able to connect and team up with others to take on missions. There is no better time to play a multiplayer-focused game than at launch since all the players are just starting out (and the multiplayer beta data won’t carry over). The community should be more helpful in the beginning as everyone are starting out as noobies.

Moreover, you won’t be dominated by more experience players, especially those who are jerks, when starting out. On the other hand, you can also get a head start on gamers who wait until much later to purchase the same game. If you are a competitive person, preordering Destiny should help you get a leg up on later arrivers.

1. BUNGIE

The best reason to preorder, or just buy, Destiny is the studio behind its development. Bungie almost single-handedly saved the Xbox with Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2. After a strong partnership with Microsoft, they decided to become independent in 2012. As we already stated, Destiny is the biggest videogame yet from Bungie. Given their excellent track record, Bungie fans (and even detractors) should be in for a special treat.

Destiny is available starting on the 9th of September. It is being presented as a Playstation 4 game even though it also releasing on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on the same day. If you want get best experience of Destiny, Destiny-Store.com is your best choice to buy cheap Destiny Glimmer and Destiny Power leveling.

Explores Destiny New Trailer – The Planet Venus

Explores Destiny New Trailer - The Planet Venus

Gamers around the world are anxiously waiting for Destiny to be released. Activision has bankrolled this Bungie title to the tune of $500 million and already a lot of anticipation has been built up for Destiny through its early alpha and beta releases. The release is destined for next month and Bungie released a new trailer which explores planet Venus, offering us a glimpse of what’s to come.

The trailer shows that once Venus was a planet where great discoveries were made, and it became a beautiful planet due to humanity’s great achievements. However the Fallen descended on it and destroyed the entire planet, wrecking all that humanity had done for Venus.

This trailer is good enough to spark up our appetite for this title indeed, which no doubt a lot of gamers are waiting for. Bungie recently confirmed that any and all progress made during the beta release would not be transferable, so do keep in mind that when the title launches next month you will have to start from scratch. Bungie also recently confirmed a multiplayer expansion pack for Destiny that is going to be released in December.

Already countless gamers have placed pre-orders for the title, so much so that Best Buy had to cancel pre-orders of Destiny Limited Edition. The title is set for release on September 9th.

A Virtual Trip to Overview Destiny’s Mars

As we all know Mars is a planet in the Solar System, during the Golden Age of destiny, Mars was once home to a populated human metropolis, a massive city that now lies buried beneath the planet’s red dust, with only the peaks of its tallest skyscrapers poking out of the dunes as evidence that it ever existed. Guardians can now climb into those skyscrapers from their upper levels and venture into the depths below to discover what items and enemies may lie below the surface.

A Virtual Trip to Overview Destiny's Mars

Mars is but one of the locales on which Guardians will be making planet fall in Destiny, but it is perhaps the most rust-colored and sandy of them all. In a new video of official, the mysteries and vistas of the Red Planet is, well, not exactly explained in great detail, but at least teased in a visually pleasing way.

It looks as though mankind had made a previous stab at colonizing Mars, but now it’s a desolate wasteland where dunes are reclaiming skyscrapers. If the video is to be believed, it’s not exactly devoid of inhabitants, however. You can see it for yourself after the break.

8 Helpful Tips for Destiny Players

destiny wallpaper-1

The Destiny Public Beta began on July 17, 2014 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms, before going offline for maintenance on July 21 and 22. On July 22, maintenance was completed ahead of schedule, and the Beta became available for Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms, which were originally scheduled to gain access on July 23. On July 24, 2014, Bungie opened the Beta for free download to all players on all platforms, with no code redemption necessary. The Beta officially closed on July 27 at 6:30pm PDT. After the Beta, Destiny is scheduled to launch on September 9, 2014 everywhere outside Japan, where it will be released on September 11, 2014 and only for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

I put together some quick tips to help get you started for Destiny Beta, and now is the following:

Quick Tips for Destiny Beta

How to avoid taking damage

In the early missions, enemy fire is slow moving, but doesn’t follow a straight trajectory. Constant movement is the best way to minimise damage taken during the small skirmishes. Popping in and out of cover is the most effective way to take out the small groups of Vandals, Dregs and other foes you’ll encounter along the way.
What’s the most effective way to kill enemies?

Try and stay as far away as possible from enemies, picking them off at range before switching to your alternate weapon to clean up any who come too close for comfort. It’s important to carry one long and one short range weapon, keeping you well equipped for all possibilities.

Some of the enemies will be melee-focused, and swarm on you in packs of up to four, so keep both guns loaded between the fights so you aren’t caught by a sudden onslaught.

How do I upgrade my equipment?

Return to the Tower after every mission to upgrade your weapons, armour and unlock whatever new items are available. Destiny has a good waypoint system and will alert you to any merchants or other NPCs who are in need of interaction to unlock new goodies.
When should I spend my Glimmer?

Glimmer is Destiny’s currency, and is worth stockpiling in the early parts of the game as you’ll be unlocking a ton of items that’ll quickly improve your stats, a la Borderlands. Once the loot drops start withering out, then start putting your Glimmer to good use with the merchants.
How to get headshots

It sounds pretty obvious, but headshots do far more damage than damage anywhere else. It’s actually pretty easy to get headshots on the low-level enemies, thanks to their slow movement. Keep aiming high to help whittle down packs and focus on the Captains and other leaders.
How many people can I join in co-op?

Campaign missions allow you to link up with a couple of friends and take them on as a group of three. Tackling missions as a group certainly makes things more interesting, and communication is always a benefit, so ideally find friends who have a mic.
How to complete missions

A few of the early missions end in a heated battle with either a large number of Vandals, Dregs and other low level foes, or one giant behemoth and a few minions, make sure you go into the end game well prepared.

Take a pause before approaching the closing objective to make sure your powers or grenades are recharged, you’re fully reloaded on all weapons and take a note of the terrain. Find good cover spots and make sure you aren’t cornered.
Multiplayer tips

Keep checking your equipment, as you can rotate armour to improve your overall defence and swap weapons around too.

For your alternate weapon, if you choose the sniper rifle or other guns that require special ammo, you’ll need to collect it from the boxes littered around the map in order to use them. These caches usually don’t stock much ammo, so try and grab a couple between runs to the domination points.

Whenever you come across the large, tank-like vehicle, jump in. At present, it feels a little overpowered, and may well be balanced in the near future. Right now, it offers great protection and fires lightning-fast rockets that are guaranteed to net you a handful of kills. It’s also small enough to drive to B and C and capture without getting out. Just make sure you keep your eyes peeled for any approaching enemies and be mindful of nearby turrets.
