Xur’s Location And Exotic Goods For Weekend Of March 13 From Destiny

Destiny players who need to keep their health up should check out the wares being sold by Xûr, Agent of the Nine, this weekend. The mysterious vendor has returned to the Tower, and PlayStation and Xbox owners can grab the Red Death Exotic Pulse Rifle.

Those looking for Xûr should run straight ahead towards the Vanguard hall after spawning in the Tower. He is located to the right of the table that the three Vanguards are standing at, against the wall. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map, just to be sure.

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, March 15. As soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT, he will be gone.

The Red Death tops the interest charts this week, as it is one of the rare times the Pulse Rifle has been sold. The combination of its utility for the Crota’s End raid and the boost that all Pulse Rifles received in the recent Destiny 1.1.1 patch make this a can’t-miss purchase for those that don’t have one.

The upgrades are worth checking out this week as well. Mask of the Third Man, Helm of Saint-14, Light Beyond Nemesis, and Lucky Raspberry all have good to excellent stat rolls. Unfortunately, the stats on the armor items for sale are poor to average. The good news is that Xûr is selling an Exotic Helmet Engram for anyone that wants to take a chance there.

And, yes, Heavy Weapon Ammo Synthesis packs are available.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

The Red Death perk is a crucial weapon in the toughest PVE encounters like Crota’s End simply because of the perk that carries the same name. This perks fully regenerates player health after each kill. The Unflinching perk also makes this a great weapon for PVP, as it helps you keep your aim steady while you’re being shot.

The Insurmountable Skullfort is the other helmet available for Striker Titans in Destiny. And by other, I mean you only want to pick it up if you don’t have the other Exotic Titan helmets or chest plates available. It is geared toward health regeneration with the Infusion perk that replenishes health when picking up Orbs. Meanwhile, the Improved Transfusion perk regenerates health when killing enemies with the Fist of Havoc. Not bad to have for the final encounter in the Crota’s End raid, but not as useful as other Exotics like Helm of Saint-14, Inmost Most, or Armamentarium.

The 108 Discipline stat roll is very average, making the Insurmountable Skullfort easier to pass on this week.

Knucklehead Radar is unique in Destiny, as it allows the radar to stay up when any Hunters sub-class uses any primary weapon. That’s something you’ll have to decide if it is worth it, as some players swear by it while others don’t feel the perk adds many benefits when there are already several weapons that come with the perk.

The 105 Strength stat is just as average as the stats on the Insurmountable Skullfort.

Claws of Ahamkara are the other Warlock Exotic gauntlets in Destiny, and can be used with either sub-class. The Whispers perk allows for two fully-powered melee attacks, and the Snap Discharge perk increases melee attack speed. If you want to build a melee-powered Warlock, these gauntlets are for you.

The split 55 Discipline and 60 Strength stat roll is above average for these gauntlets. Xûr has sold these at a higher stat roll only one other time, so they may be worth a look if you’re a Warlock who likes to punch.

Destiny: 2015’s British Academy Game Awards

The post-apocalyptic first-person shooter was developed by Bungie. It was the US studio’s first release after quitting the Halo series.

The title attracted mixed reviews, and its relatively bare-bones plot continues to divide gamers.

The award surprised many in the audience at the London ceremony as it had not won any of the other categories it had been nominated for.

However, Bungie’s skill at crafting alien-slaying gunfights appears to have helped it seize the top prize.

BBC Newsbeat’s Jonathan Blake tweeted the reaction to Destiny’s victory from the ceremony Accepting the award Bungie’s president thanked Destiny’s players.

“It’s always a labour of love that we do because of the passion of the fans,” said Harold Ryan.

“They really are the ones who drive you to put the energy and time into putting the game together.”

Several other biggest-budget nominees – including Assassin’s Creed Unity, Mario Kart 8 and Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare – walked away without a prize.

House of Wolves DLC Might Arrive in May From Destiny

Bungie’s Destiny has become an unprecedented success for the company despite several issues that have arisen since launch. Given that many gamers expected a sprawling space epic, akin to Borderlands meets Halo, the low amount of content has been a major issue.

 This was somewhat mitigated with The Dark Below expansion but for a $20 DLC, it included one new Raid, a few new Exotics, three new Story missions, one new Strike, three new PvP maps and an increased Light level cap (not to mention periodic Nightfalls and Weeklies that can only be played if you have the DLC). While this sounds good on paper, it pales in comparison to what other MMO-like games have offered. So what’s coming next?

GamingBolt recently spoke to Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter about his thoughts on the same. Activision has already confirmed that a sequel will be happening but what has Pachter heard regarding other future plans for Destiny, especially the major content update rumoured to be happening in Fall?

 “You know, Activision’s management told me that they’re – they and Bungie – are trying to keep Destiny’s revenues about flat every year this year and going forward every year until Destiny 2 comes out. It’s going to be more than just map packs and levelling up. This major content drop is going to be more like a World of WarCraft expansion, so probably more like a $40 ten level cap change as opposed to a $20 two level cap change. That’s really what they intend to do.”

Pachter also said he’s unsure about the frequency of the $20 expansions but that there may be at least a four month gap between each one. “I don’t know how frequently we’re going to see the $20 versions, but my guess is that you’ll see two $20 expansions and one $40 expansion each year, so kind of pace it out that way. Every four months, you get something like that. So I think that the goal is to keep that 3.5 to 5.5 million daily active player group spending $60 to $80 a year.

“Maybe you can sell the $40 expansion and one $20 expansion to each of them. That’s like selling them a new game every year, and Destiny maybe ends up generating 5 million units at $60. I think that’s their plan, and I think if you really like Destiny, that’s just like buying Call of Duty every year. That’s not that big a deal.

“I don’t think Destiny is ever going to be as big as Call of Duty, but I think the plan is, as people get next gen consoles – there were 3.5 million daily active players back in November, they said it was higher now, my guess is 5, like I said – and I think their goal is by year end it’s 7. And by year end ‘16, it’s 9, and then by year end ‘17 it’s 11, and then the next Destiny sells 20 million copies and then they start again.”

 This isn’t exactly a new business plan that Bungie and Activision stumbled upon. EA has been selling games as a service for quite some time now with FIFA’s Ultimate Team mode. “You know, I think that it’s a smart and new business model.

I mean, it’s essentially taking the MMO subscription model and turning it into a pay-as-you-go for content model, and it might work. I think it’s an interesting new business model. You’ll hear all the publishers talk about something called “games as a service”, essentially that means subscription games. They would really love to morph into that, but none of them wants to give up that $60 initial sale.

So FIFA Ultimate Team is that. They keep selling you stuff but you need to buy the game in order to play it. Destiny is that, it’s just that the stuff that they’re selling you is in a big package that costs $20 or $40.

Destiny: The players 16 minutes finish the Crota Raid

Bungie’s Destiny is notorious for its ridiculous player-driven challenges, such as soloing Raids or taking a Sparrow where no Sparrow should be allowed to go. With this in mind, a player undertook Destiny‘s latest Raid, Crota’s End, solo. While this is nothing new, the player managed to do it in an astonishing 16 minutes and 7 seconds.

With any challenge comes a horde of players vying to be the best; not for any particular reward, but just because they can. Many players decided to take on Destiny‘s Raids with increasingly ridiculous requirements – completing it in 16 minutes, however, is equally impressive and insane.

Crota’s End has five main sections: The Abyss, The Bridge, The Hallway, The DeathSinger, and finally Crota himself. While each section is capable of a solo run, using multiple ‘cheeses’ and shortcuts, it doesn’t always make them any less difficult (especially during the latter sections).

The player in question, known on Reddit as Slayerage, used a Bladedancer Hunter to great effect, taking advantage of its Blink and Super abilities. Check out the full video below.

Allegedly, Slayerage practiced for a good 10 hours straight before recording his fastest run. While it is on Normal, the run’s time is incredibly impressive, especially considering there are a number of occasions where Slayerage could have improved the time by a few seconds per encounter (such as Blinking off the rock during the opening section).

There are a few techniques in here that I hadn’t seen used before, such as using Blink while swinging the Sword in order to cross The Bridge without even activating it, or using Blink to skip a whole section of The Abyss at the start. I’ll be taking advantage of both those tricks next time I take on Crota’s End – not speed running, of course.

Slayerage is responsible for most of the ridiculous Destiny feats you see across the internet, such as running Vault of Glass with two people, or soloing Crota’s End on Hard Mode.

Destiny: How to glitch Heavy Ammo

Destiny is a game filled with shortcuts, cheeses, and glitches players discovered to ease their way through the game’s myriad of activities. This guide details one of the many ways to quickly generate Heavy Ammo – a useful tip for Strikes, Nightfalls, and Raids (especially Raids).

3Step 1

Empty all of your Primary and Heavy Ammo (we’re assuming you don’t have Heavy Ammo at this point anyway, hence the glitch). This may take a while for the Primary, but the process speeds up if you switch weapons once and then use the swapped weapon after a reduced ammo penalty (for swapping).

It may take a minute, depending on what gun you have – during this step, I recommend getting into a safe place and not shooting anyone just yet.

Step 2

Once you lose all your Primary Ammo, you’re going to equip Ice Breaker (or at least pull out, if you already have it equipped). The reason we’re using Ice Breaker is because the ammo regenerates, so we won’t have any use for Special Ammo drops.

Use Ice Breaker to shoot as many enemies as you like – they should drop one box of Heavy Ammo per kill.

Just make sure you don’t pick up any ammo until you’re ready to do so, as picking up Primary or Heavy Ammo will stop the glitch from working.

Alternative method

Alternatively, for those who don’t have Ice Breaker, you can just empty all of your ammunition, and the game will automatically refresh it – all of your weapons must be empty, and the refresh takes about 10-15 seconds.

This ‘method’ is well-known, considering it was built directly into the game, but it’s also a useful way to gain some more Heavy Ammo if you find that enemies aren’t dropping any.

Both of these are alternatives to using a Heavy Synth, if you find yourself in a situation where you don’t have any or you’re too stingy to use one – or worse, on a cool down from already using one.

Destiny: New Weekly Heroic Strike Exploit Detailed

The latest patch to come to “Destiny” brings a lot of changes and modifications to how gameplay and weapons work. And to ensure that fans are clear on where the developers now stand when it comes to what fans can expect next, they set to answer some questions regarding the patch.

For the most part, a lot of fans have asked about weapons and damage in the latest Open House. And Bungie has provided some insight on the decisions made related to nerfed or buffed weapons.

“Actually, we look at the balance of weapons in both spots and make decisions about if, when, what and how we choose to balance said item,” said senior sandbox designer Josh Hamrick as a response to one fan query. “We want to make the game better as a whole, not just one part. All of us play both PvE and PvP on a nightly basis so none of us want to hurt either of those activities.”

A very resonant lament from “Destiny” players is how the changes that have been made for the weapons, even with the latest patch. The changes that have been done to improve one area, say the PvP, comes at the cost of PvE players experiencing nerfs to their weapons that result in weaker damage for PvE play.

Some fans, such as one Bungie forums user CSSparrowofDoom, has pointed out that even the balance meant for PvP is not necessarily one that pushes for its improvement. Bungie did point out that reception to change, for Autos for example, have been mixed at best. Even the existing weapons that ae deemed as underpowered are currently being monitored.

One such case is the Necrochasm, which is an exotic gun that’s potentially one of the hardest to obtain in “Destiny.” John Weisnewski, sandbox designer at Bungie, did say that the Necrochasm does not have a competitive edge compared to other weapons and auto rifles. In addition, fans can look forward to future updates that would tackle the Necrochasm, so at least that’s in the works. The best action for now, it seems, is to listen to the community feedback, something which Bungie does appreciate.

A new development for “Destiny,” however, that a fan has taken into his own hands involves the Weekly Heroic Strike. There were a number of changes that came with the latest patch from Bungie, and that’s in the form of matchmaking.

According to VG 24/7, this follows fan comments when it comes to finding members of fireteams for the events. The common practice is to turn to outside help, whether through the trusted fireteam listings on Reddit or the use of apps and fan-made sites. But it appears that the patch brought in a bigger problem to those who were fine with doing solo on the Weekly Heroic Strike.

The source sites that there are now players who are finding the necessary matchmaking and lack of ability to solo as a problem in itself. Though it may now be a more amenable problem, at least for PS4 players. One “Destiny” player has found a way to forego matchmaking by tinkering with the PS4’s clock while playing the game.

Currently, the fix is actually a glitch in the system, which bugs the matchmaking process so it will not correctly search for other guardians to join the game. The steps to achieving solo are illustrated in the video provided below. Whether or not this will be fixed by Sony later on for the PS4 or Bungie will provide a solution in the next patch has not yet been confirmed.

Destiny Share Infinite Thrall Glitch Provides Easy Loot And Experience

Destiny players keep finding creative ways to farm new loot for their characters. Their latest trick, dubbed the “Infinite Thrall Glitch,” is one of the easiest tricks yet. Destiny power leveling your game makes it easier.


To perform the Infinite Thrall glitch, you’ll need to head to Earth. Select the early story mission “The Dark Within” and head to the Skywatch. Soon after you enter the Lunar Complex, you’ll hit a Darkness Zone and find a gate that your Ghost has to open.

Summon your DinklageBot and let him start working. Don’t go through the gate, though. Instead, hop on your Sparrow and head to the adjoining room. Drive behind the red crate in the corner and stop with your Sparrow parallel to the broken wall there. Hop off your Sparrow and you’ll pass through the wall. Crouch under some wreckage and head through the crack in the wall. Now you’re outside.

Follow the snowy path outside and eventually you’ll be able to hop onto the roof of the complex. You’ll find an entrance back into the building there and will eventually find yourself in the room where you encountered the Hive Wizard in your first play-through of this mission.

However, there’s a crucial difference this time around: there are almost no enemies there. The only Hive you’ll find are a pair of Thralls who spawn for a couple seconds and then disappear. In Se7enSins’ video, they’re level 3 but you can tweak that when you’re first selecting the mission from orbit.

The Thralls will keep respawning even if you kill them. This means you can easily farm them for Glimmer, loot, and experience. This is a great place for you to grind out certain Bounties as well. The only limit to how much you can farm is your ammo supply.

Bungie will probably remove the exploit soon. In the past, they’ve shown that they don’t want any get-rich-quick bugs in the game. Since Destiny launched, they’ve shut down “loot caves” and other exploits. This particular bug seems like it’ll be easy to fix; all Bungie needs to do is prevent players from clipping through that one wall. If you’re looking for an easy grind, better take advantage of the Infinite Thrall glitch while you can.

This exploit has been live for at least a week. Patch 1.1.1 fixed a lot of issues, such as the heavy ammo bug, but the Infinite Thralls seem to have escaped their notice for now.

Destiny: Synthesis of the next evening and heavy ammunition to strike date was a rumour

A little while ago, we brought you news regarding the inventory that the Agent of the Nine vendor Xur might possibly have available when he next made his rounds in the Tower. This however, has since been changed possibly indicating that Xur’s inventory was tampered with following the release of 1.1.1 patch which was launched on last Thursday.

This image shows that Xur’s actual stock was different and that it has indeed been changed. The difference being that Heavy Ammo Synthesis has been removed whilst the exotic gear remains. Furthermore, the now popular Reddit user Megamanexe4 has listed what is alleged to be the line up of dates for Heavy Ammo Synthesis, saying that they’re 6th, 20th and 27th of March, 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th of April and 1st, 8th and 15th of May.

According to imagery (see below) that has been posted online by Megamanexe4, the next Weekly Nightfall and Heroic Strike will be at Level 30 and Level 24 respectively. The modifiers for Nightfall strike are listed as being “Epic”, “Nightfall”, “Arc Burn”, “Lightswitch” and “Angry”, whereas for the Heroic Strike, it’s “Heroic” and “Lightswitch”.
As usual, this piece of information should be taken with a grain of salt. Destiny  power leveling is now available for the PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Iron Banner Returns Will continue until the 19th

Today we got the first update notes of 2015 for Destiny, bringing a bunch of awesome things with it, including the next Iron Banner tournament. Yep, that’s right, as of next Tuesday, you’ll be able to compete in PvP matches that take armour rating, weapon damage, and your level into account, so prepare to get wrecked Christmas newcomers. The Iron Banner has been the source of quite a bit of agro for Bungie. The first tournament was easy enough for level 4 players to come in and blast through, with later tournaments rewarding players with gear of the same level as hard mode Raid gear. Hopefully Bungie has levelled the field this time around, handing out appropriate rewards that aren’t overpowered, and making it easy enough to fight each other, but not so easy you get your world rocked by a Christmas noob (even though I call you a noob, I love you!).

Iron Banner Returns January 13th To 19th

Personally, I love the Iron Banner as it is, I love ranking up to buy decent gear off of Lord Saladin, I love how much it improves my aim in Destiny in general, but I also think that it gets a bit stale quite fast. Luckily Bungie is fixing that as well. Now the new maps that were added with The Dark Below, Asylum, The Anomaly, and The Burning Shrine, will be part of the regular daily Crucible playlists. I’m thinking this also means they’ll be part of the next Iron Banner tournament as well, only time will tell.

Destiny’s most used weaponry

For both new and old-guard Destiny players the primary weapon of choice is the Vision of Confluence, a legendary scout rifle with plenty of damage upgrade options, according to developer Bungie’s recent deep dive into its game stats.

“Weapon use in Destiny is pretty diverse and follows a very fat ‘long tail’ distribution,” according to a developer. “The guns on these lists are indeed awesome but a lot of players are finding that other, more obscure weapons better fit their tactical needs or their personal play styles. Besides, punching all of the aliens in the face is obviously the correct way to play Destiny anyway.”

The team over at Bungie pulled the top ten weapons for level 20 Guardians and above, based on the past two weeks of gameplay to create the chart below. They also pulled stats to create a list of the top primary weapon selection among all players and the top primary weapon used in Crucible matches. Both of those lists are below the chart.
