Iron Banner Returns Will continue until the 19th

Today we got the first update notes of 2015 for Destiny, bringing a bunch of awesome things with it, including the next Iron Banner tournament. Yep, that’s right, as of next Tuesday, you’ll be able to compete in PvP matches that take armour rating, weapon damage, and your level into account, so prepare to get wrecked Christmas newcomers. The Iron Banner has been the source of quite a bit of agro for Bungie. The first tournament was easy enough for level 4 players to come in and blast through, with later tournaments rewarding players with gear of the same level as hard mode Raid gear. Hopefully Bungie has levelled the field this time around, handing out appropriate rewards that aren’t overpowered, and making it easy enough to fight each other, but not so easy you get your world rocked by a Christmas noob (even though I call you a noob, I love you!).

Iron Banner Returns January 13th To 19th

Personally, I love the Iron Banner as it is, I love ranking up to buy decent gear off of Lord Saladin, I love how much it improves my aim in Destiny in general, but I also think that it gets a bit stale quite fast. Luckily Bungie is fixing that as well. Now the new maps that were added with The Dark Below, Asylum, The Anomaly, and The Burning Shrine, will be part of the regular daily Crucible playlists. I’m thinking this also means they’ll be part of the next Iron Banner tournament as well, only time will tell.

Destiny’s most used weaponry

For both new and old-guard Destiny players the primary weapon of choice is the Vision of Confluence, a legendary scout rifle with plenty of damage upgrade options, according to developer Bungie’s recent deep dive into its game stats.

“Weapon use in Destiny is pretty diverse and follows a very fat ‘long tail’ distribution,” according to a developer. “The guns on these lists are indeed awesome but a lot of players are finding that other, more obscure weapons better fit their tactical needs or their personal play styles. Besides, punching all of the aliens in the face is obviously the correct way to play Destiny anyway.”

The team over at Bungie pulled the top ten weapons for level 20 Guardians and above, based on the past two weeks of gameplay to create the chart below. They also pulled stats to create a list of the top primary weapon selection among all players and the top primary weapon used in Crucible matches. Both of those lists are below the chart.

Destiny’s developers also announced that they would be fixing a bunch of issues with the game, many of which made it easy to sort of cheat your way through a boss battle.

Unexpected Destiny, New Stories

Destiny Glitch Tells An Unexpected Story

It’s not too often that a glitch plays out as more than just a funny moment or even an exploitable trick. But this Destiny glitch is…exceptional.

Player leftyfl1p shares the video above that tells the story of Billy, the adventurous Thrall that wanted to lead his fireteam to a chest filled with potential armor and goodies.

Over on Reddit, leftyfl1p explains: Context: After his fireteam leader (green) demands to know where he is going, Billy the thrall (red) finds a secret chest and returns to show his fireteam his shiny new gjallarhorn that he found. He then proceeds to return to the chest location along with his fireteam. His warlock buddy (yellow) hopes to see some luck with this chest, as he didn’t with the first one. He isn’t too happy with the results. He then finds a guardian behind a pillar and immediately wants to cheese him with the disconnect glitch after then take his shield down. The fireteam leader doesn’t allow this and they all return to their spots in the hallway.3

Destiny Glimmer Easy Cash Farming Guide

Foreword: There are multiple ways to earn tons of destiny glimmer in Destiny, but some require you’ve played further in the game than others.

Destiny Glimmer Easy Cash Farming Guide

Since Destiny release, loot chests no longer give big glimmer rewards like in the beta. Other words, you need to farm destiny glimmer by yourself! Check out the methods below and decide which is best for you based on Level and the expected amount of Glimmer you can farm.

Get a little glimmer of small details:

  • Disassembling Gear: Don’t forget that you can disassemble gear you’re no longer using in the inventory menu. Disassembling removes the item from your inventory, then rewards you with some glimmer and materials.
  • Ether Seeds: To earn even more money in combat, always use consumable Ether Seeds. They’re dropped randomly by Fallen enemies, and increase glimmer drops from enemies for 10 full minutes. Don’t forget to use them while farming.

Low Level Glimmer Farming (Level 4):

  • Start the mission “The Warmind” and fight to the end of the stage where your Ghost will interface with the Warmind. Before interacting with the objective, use an Ether Seed to boost your glimmer earnings.
  • Waves of Hive enemies will appear. Wipe them out until the large final boss enemy appears. Let one of the last enemies kill you. Try to save a different Hive enemy so that you can kill the boss instead, earning better rewards per run. There is no penalty for dying, except for spawning at the checkpoint.
  • Let the last enemy kill you, then rinse and repeat. Repeat the defense section until your seed’s 10 minutes of effect are depleted. Pop another seed and continue.
  • This method earns about 1,000 glimmer every 10 minutes, or about 6,000-7,000 glimmer every hour.

Post-Earth Glimmer Farming (Level 14+):

  • Travel to the Moon story mission “Shrine of Oryx” — a level 8 requirement, but it’s better to be higher level to earn glimmer as fast as possible. Set it to “Hard” difficulty or higher to make this method work.
  • Look for “Hallowed Acolytes” in the large room with a pit to your left. It’s found after two combat rooms and two large tube hallways. They’re the ones with yellow bars. Kill these enemies to earn 45 glimmer each.
  • Enter the area where 7-9 of these tough enemies spawn and wipe them out in just a few minutes. You’ll know you’re in the right area when the ghost says “There’s the Shrine! Find a way through!”
  • When they’re defeated, jump into the pit on the left to die instantly and repeat the section with the high-value yellow health bar enemies.
  • There’s a checkpoint right before this room. Follow the ramp up and defeat the first group of yellow enemies, then jump down to defeat the second. Use grenades and Super Charge to make it even faster.
  • Ignore the Ogre and Dregs, killing the higher-valued enemies with each few-minute run. You can gain about 4,000 glimmer every ten minutes by repeating this process — that’s 24,000 glimmer per hour of farming.

Get Best Destiny Experience From This Five Advice

Are you really planning to buy Destiny? While it may be tempting to just jump right into the videogame, we at Game Idealist have a few suggestions that should help you get the most out of your experience. Below is a list of the top five things we recommend doing prior to playing the videogame.

1.VITA REMOTE PLAY

No, Destiny isn’t coming on the Vita. With that said, the videogame can still be played on the handheld using Remote Play with the Playstation 4. Early impressions have shown that the streaming feature actually works quite well. If you are a busy person or someone else is hogging the television, playing on a handheld is the best option available. So, if you have a Playstation Vita, you should follow the instructions on the Playstation website on how to set up Remote Play.

2.IMPROVE YOUR PERFORMANCE

Whether you are teaming up with friends or killing them, you most certainly do not want to look weak. Having a good surround sound in impeccable in Destiny due to its large areas. Thankfully, you don’t have to blowout your budget on the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 with the Gold Wireless Headset (or the Limited Edition Glacier White Gold Wireless Headset if you want one to match the color of the Glacier White Destiny Playstation 4 Bundle). The headset is an official first-party product and includes a dedicated audio mode just for Destiny.

Another product we recommend that should help you fare well in the videogame is Kontrol Freek. The analog covers provide a better grip, and thus better accuracy, than the default ones on the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 controllers. Not to mention that they are pretty cheap as well.

3.PLAYSTATION PLUS AND XBOX LIVE GOLD

Destiny requires online; so you will need to make sure you have the right setup as the different consoles have different methods in terms of what requires a subscription and what doesn’t. The videogame needs Xbox Live Gold on the Xbox One and Xbox 360. While some parts of Destiny is accessible on the Playstation 4 without Playstation Plus, the cooperative and player versus player battles are locked out without a membership. For gamers with the Playstation 3, they do not have to worry about being subscribe to the Playstation Plus as online gameplay is completely free.

4.READ UP ON A STRATEGY GUIDE

If you want to take your performance to the next level, we suggest that you should read up on a strategy guide. The most complete guide is, of course, the official one by Brady Games. The massive 400-page book covers basically all aspects of the videogame, from the missions to the character building to the player versus player battles. An e-guide book is also included for free if you don’t like flipping between pages.

5.REDEEM CODES

The last, and possibly most important, thing to do before playing Destiny is to redeem any codes that came with the game. It may sound obvious but a lot of gamers tend to forget about unlocking the free gifts before the code expires. So, if you got any of the preorder bonuses, free trials and other codes, you should redeem them as soon as possible. But what if your copy does not come with any codes? Fortunately, the good folks at Reddit has compiled a list of unlocks that came from various trading cards. These do not have any one-time use limit (so you can share them with your friends) and will help you unlock emblems, grimoires and shaders. Find the codes below this block of text.
